Practical guidance

About this tool

This generator creates a JSON-LD draft from information you supply. Structured data gives search engines explicit, machine-readable information about the entities and attributes represented on a page. Google's structured-data introduction explains how it can support search features.

Generated markup still needs to match visible page content and meet the requirements for the selected type. Valid syntax does not guarantee a rich result or ranking improvement.

Need help with structured data or technical SEO?

I can review schema implementation alongside crawlability, indexation, rendering, templates and the other technical issues affecting search visibility.

How to create and test your markup

  1. 1Select the schema type that accurately represents the page.
  2. 2Complete required fields using information already visible or supported on that page.
  3. 3Add optional fields only when the information is genuine and maintained.
  4. 4Copy the complete JSON-LD script generated by the tool.
  5. 5Add it through the site's existing CMS, template or application method.
  6. 6Test with the Rich Results Test and Schema.org Validator before and after deployment.
  7. 7Monitor applicable structured-data reports in Search Console and retest after template changes.

Which schema types can you generate?

Schema typeAppropriate use
ProductA specific product or product-information page with accurate product, offer and availability details.
Local BusinessA page representing a real business or physical business location.
ArticleAn article, blog post or news item whose author, publisher and dates can be supported.
FAQ PageA page containing the same questions and answers visibly presented to users. Google only shows FAQ rich results regularly for limited authoritative government and health sites.
BreadcrumbA page whose breadcrumb trail represents its position in the site hierarchy.

Structured data implementation checks

  • The markup must describe the page where it is implemented.
  • Important information represented in the markup should also be visible to users.
  • Required and recommended properties vary by schema type and search feature.
  • Prices, availability, dates, business details and ratings must remain accurate.
  • Ratings and reviews must not be invented or copied from unsupported sources.
  • Validation without errors does not guarantee a search-result enhancement.
  • Markup should be retested when page templates or underlying data change.

What schema can and cannot do

Structured data can provide clearer machine-readable information about a page. It does not create the underlying facts, content quality or technical accessibility required for search visibility.

  • It cannot guarantee rankings or rich results.
  • It cannot repair thin, inaccurate or hidden page content.
  • It cannot fix crawlability, rendering or indexation problems.
  • It cannot make an inaccessible page technically usable by search engines.
  • It cannot create authority, reviews or credibility that do not exist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does structured data directly improve rankings?

Structured data helps search engines understand page information and can make a page eligible for supported search features. It does not guarantee a ranking improvement or a rich result.

Is generated markup automatically ready for Google?

Not always. The generated output must describe the actual page and include the properties required for the relevant Google search feature. Test it, compare it with current documentation, and keep changing data such as price and availability accurate.

Can I add more than one schema type to a page?

Yes, when each type accurately describes content or entities on the page and the relationships are clear. Avoid adding unrelated markup simply because the generator supports it.

Where can I validate JSON-LD?

Use Google's Rich Results Test to check supported Google search features, and the Schema.org Validator for broader vocabulary and syntax review. Retest the live URL after deployment.

Where should JSON-LD be added?

Add the complete script through the method supported by your CMS or application. Google can process JSON-LD in the head or body, provided it is available when the page is rendered and accurately describes visible page content.
